Missouri freshman defensive tackle Terry Beckner Jr. won’t play again this season after it was announced Friday that he will have surgery to repair torn ligaments in his right knee.

Beckner, who was third on the team with eight tackles for loss and three sacks, sustained a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee, in addition to meniscus damage and a bone bruise, according to a news release sent by the team. After Beckner has surgery in two to three weeks, Missouri athletic trainer Rex Sharp expects Beckner to recover before the start of fall camp next August.
