▪ WHEN/WHERE: 8 p.m. Friday at Mizzou Arena in Columbia

▪ TV/RADIO: SEC Network plus; KMBZ (98.1 FM)

▪ ABOUT MISSOURI (0-0): Coming off a 9-23 season, the Tigers would love to distance themselves from that debacle by avoiding another season-opening loss. MU tumbled to UMKC last season, setting a terrible tone for the season. Beating a Wofford team that reached the tourney last season would be a huge confidence boost, but coach Kim Anderson’s squad is young and lacks size. Sophomores Namon Wright and D’Angelo Allen, who were suspended for last Friday’s exhibition win against Missouri Western, have been reinstated and will play.

▪ ABOUT WOFFORD (0-0): The reigning Southern Conference regular-season and tournament champion, Wofford went 28-7 last season and lost to Arkansas by three in the NCAA Tournament. Coach Mike Young’s Terriers return three starters, but replacing Karl Cochran won’t be easy. He led Wofford in scoring, rebounding, assists, steals and blocks. Guards Spencer Collin and Eric Garcia and forward Justin Gordon form a stout backbone.
