Missouri sophomore center fielder Taylor Gadbois received third-team All-America honors Wednesday from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Gadbois, a speedy slap hitter from Maryville, Mo., led the Tigers in batting (.421), on-base percentage (.466), hits (85), runs (55) and stolen bases (46) from the leadoff spot.

She produced the second-most hits in a season in Missouri history, the third-highest average and third-most steals.

As a redshirt freshman in 2013, Gadbois batted only .103 before rocketing to first-team All-SEC and second-team All-Southeast Region honors.

She becomes the 11th player during coach Ehren Earleywine’s tenure to receive some sort of All-America recognition and the 26th player overall.

Georgia second baseman Alex Hugo, an Olathe South graduate, was a first-team All-American.

Hugo, a sophomore transfer from Kansas, leads the nation with 25 home runs. She batted .341 with 64 RBIs along with a .486 on-base percentage and .856 slugging percentage.
