Missouri senior Kaysie Clark earns first-team All-SEC soccer honors
Missouri senior midfielder Kaysie Clark was selected first-team All-SEC in voting by the conference’s coaches.
Clark, who tied for second in the SEC with 10 assists during the regular season, was one of four Tigers to receive postseason honors Sunday when the annual awards were announced.
She also scored three goals this season, giving her a team-best 16 total points.
Missouri — which finished fourth in the SEC, going 6-4-1 in conference and 11-5-3 overall — also placed two players, junior midfielder Reagan Russell and junior defender Candace Johnson, on the All-SEC second.
Russell has six goals and three assists, while Johnson has a goal and helped key six shutouts this season.
Meanwhile, Clark’s younger sister, freshman midfielder Kaitlyn Clark was chosen to the SEC’s all-freshmen team. She finished the regular season with two goals and four assists.
The Clark sisters’ former Liberty teammate, Texas A&M senior midfielder Shea Groom, was picked as the SEC offensive player of the year after leading the Aggies to a second consecutive conference crown.
Groom, who also had three assists, finished second in the SEC with 13 goals, including a conference-best six game-winning goals.
The Tigers’ season continues at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday against South Carolina in the second round of the SEC women’s soccer tournament in Orange Beach, Ala.
