Missouri women’s basketball team to face Creighton in WNIT

Much like the men’s basketball team, the Missouri women are NIT-bound.

The Tigers, 17-13, accepted a bid Monday night for the Women’s National Invitation Tournament. They will play at Creighton on Thursday in the first round. The starting time will be announced Tuesday afternoon.

It is Missouri’s sixth WNIT appearance. The Tigers are 3-5 overall, with all three wins coming at home.

It is the second straight postseason appearance for Missouri, which last appeared in the postseason in back-to-back seasons in 2005-06 and 2006-07.

The Tigers already are assured of consecutive winning seasons for the first time in seven years as well.

Senior Bri Kulas, a Shawnee Mission North graduate and first-team All-SEC performer, is Missouri’s leading scorer at 18.6 points per game.
