Brown’s quest for 20-point plateau

Missouri junior Jabari Brown still has a shot to become the program’s first player to average 20 points per game for the season since Kareem Rush in 2000-01.

Brown’s per-game average, which spiked above 20 points after a 33-point outing Feb. 1 against Kentucky, dipped below 20 after the loss at Tennessee, when he only scored eight.

After scoring 44 points in two games in the SEC Tournament, Brown sits at 19.8 points per game, Mathematically, he’s four points shy of that 20-point plateau.

Of course, that’s not a big stagger for Brown, who has scored 24 or more in 10 games this season, to make up in postseason play.

On Friday, Brown topped 1,000 points in his college career. He now has 1,009 in his career (997 at Missouri in the last two seasons). Had 12 in two games at Oregon as a freshman.
