MU diver Clark Thomas wins SEC weekly award
Missouri sophomore Clark Thomas was chosen Southeastern Conference male diver of the week after winning the Georgia Diving Invitational.
Thomas, an Olathe Northwest graduate, won the three-meter diving title, setting two career-highs and earning two more two-six finishes during the three-day meet.
Thomas’ winning three-meter springboard score of 386.75 was a career-best by 17 points. He also scored a career-record 365.65 on the one-meter springboard, finishing fifth overall.
Finally, Thomas claimed sixth on the platform (326.85).
It was the first weekly conference award for Thomas, who previously finished second on the one-meter springboard last month during the 2013 USA Diving Winter National Championships (377.45).
In high school, Thomas was undefeated in his Ravens career, including four consecutive Kansas Class 6A state diving championships.
