Missouri linebacker Andrew Wilson breaks his dad’s tackles record

Early in the third quarter, Missouri senior linebacker Andrew Wilson and freshman defensive tackle Josh Augusta combined to stop Oklahoma State running back Desmond Roland for a 1-yard gain.

It was Wilson’s seventh tackle of the game and the 324th of his career — moving him one ahead of his father, Jay, who graduated as the Tigers’ leader with 323 in 1983.

Wilson finished with 15 tackles, giving him 332 in career. He graduates 10th in career tackles at Missouri.

• Senior cornerback E.J. Gaines’ interception with 6 minutes, 8 seconds remaining in the first quarter extended Missouri’s nation-leading streak of consecutive games with a turnover to 44.

Gaines has nine interceptions and three fumble recoveries during the streak, which is the most for any single player.

Oklahoma State’s best cornerback, senior Justin Gilbert, also nabbed a first-quarter interception. It was his seventh, which is the most in Cowboys history since 1985.

• Twice in the first quarter, sophomore wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham made catches along the sideline, but both times the pass was initially ruled incomplete and overturned on review.

The first was quarterback James Franklin’s only completion in his first 10 throws.

Green-Beckham had several drops and tipped quarterback James Franklin’s first pass, which resulted in an interception, but Green-Beckham also had a key 27-yard grab before Josey’s go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth quarter.

• Oklahoma State junior right tackle Brandon Garrett was carted off with an apparent broken leg midway through the first quarter.

Garrett was strapped to a stretcher and gave the crowd at AT Stadium a thumbs up as he left the field.
