Mizzou volleyball will compete in the first edition of the sport's SEC/Big 10 Challenge this fall and will cap it off with the first collegiate outdoor volleyball matches at Wrigley Field.

The outdoor event at the iconic Chicago ballpark is scheduled as a doubleheader with Penn State and Kentucky meeting in another matchup. Penn State won the 2024 national volleyball title while Kentucky was runner-up last season.

Mizzou made the Sweet 16 in 2024, while its opponent in the Wrigley matches, Nebraska, was a 2025 semifinalist.

Missouri is scheduled to play the Cornhuskers at either 6 p.m. or 8 p.m. on Sept. 6 on FOX.

Tigers coach Dawn Sullivan is excited for the chance to play at Wrigley, telling MU Athletics in a published article it was an "incredible opportunity" for the team to play at the 112-year-old stadium known for its ivy-covered walls.

"We're thrilled to welcome these incredible schools and student-athletes to the first-ever collegiate volleyball game at Wrigley Field," Cubs president of business operations Crane Kenney said in a statement.

Before the Tigers head to Wrigley, they'll host a few games at the Hearnes Center as part of the SEC/Big 10 challenge will be at select campuses. Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee and Texas will be the SEC schools to host.

The Tigers are scheduled to host a match vs. Oregon on Sept. 1 at the Hearnes Center on one of the FOX Network Family Channels. Last season, Oregon (17-13, 8-12) finished 12th in the Big 10 with wins over No. 18 Minnesota and Oregon State and a season sweep over UCLA.

The Tigers (17-11, 8-7 last season), missed the NCAA tournament for the first time since Sullivan took over.

Presale for the tickets begins on April 6 and public sales start April 9, with more ticket information expected in coming days.
