Mizzou guard Annor Boateng out for season after slipping on dunk attempt
Mizzou basketball guard Annor Boateng has been ruled out for the season days after he was stretchered off the court against Mississippi State with a leg injury, the program announced in a statement.
On Saturday, Boateng slipped while attempting a dunk in the second half against the Bulldogs. After he was down for several minutes, he had an aircast put on his leg and was stretched off the court.
The play before that, he slipped after a putback dunk and came down on his left leg first.
After the 84-79 win, head coach Dennis Gates assumed that Boateng would be out for the rest of the season. The 6-6 sophomore scored two points with two rebounds off the bench.
Boateng has played in 15 games for Missouri this season, with four starts. He averaged 2.7 points and 1.8 rebounds in just over 12 minutes per game. He missed the first five games of the season with an undisclosed injury.
The Little Rock, Arkansas native is the highest-rated player Missouri has brought in since NBA star Michael Porter Jr., though that will change next year.
