Missouri QB Beau Pribula reportedly picks transfer spot. He’s headed to the ACC
Former Missouri quarterback Beau Pribula is transferring to Virginia for the 2026 season, per a report from CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz on Monday night.
Mizzou, of course, lost to Virginia in the Dec. 27 Gator Bowl, but Pribula had announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal well before (Dec. 18). He did not remain with the team beyond that.
True freshman Matt Zollers started in his place.
Pribula’s one and only season with the Tigers was rocky. Coming into the program after two years as a backup at Penn State, the signal-caller competed against redshirt junior Sam Horn and Zollers in fall camp. He won the battle after Week 1 — Horn went down with a fractured tibia — and successfully led Mizzou through nonconference play.
However, the tide turned quickly with the start of the Tigers’ Southeastern Conference slate.
In 10 games last season, Pribula threw for 1,941 yards and 11 touchdowns with a completion rate of 67.4%. Turnovers were a consistent issue for him, as he threw nine interceptions by the end of the year.
Injuries also detracted from his stay in Columbia. Pribula suffered a dislocated left ankle in the third quarter against Vanderbilt on Oct. 25, forcing him to miss action against Texas A&M and Mississippi State. He returned against Oklahoma, but the Missouri offense was lifeless in a 17-6 defeat.
According to 247Sports, Pribula was the No. 133 overall player and No. 15 quarterback in the transfer portal. He took official visits to Tennessee, Nebraska, Virginia Tech, Washington and Georgia Tech.
To replace Pribula, Mizzou acquired former Ole Miss signal-caller Austin Simmons, who ranked at No. 11 for the position.
