  • Beau Pribula upgraded to questionable; medical clearance pending coach decision
  • If not cleared, true freshman Matt Zollers will start against No. 8 Oklahoma
  • Coach Drinkwitz emphasizes player health and will assess Pribula before kickoff

Another update about the Missouri Tigers’ starting quarterback situation made the rounds on Thursday night.

Beau Pribula was upgraded from “doubtful” to “questionable” on the SEC availability report just two days from the Tigers’ road game against No. 8 Oklahoma (11 a.m. Saturday in Norman, Okla.). The signal-caller suffered a dislocated ankle in a 17-10 loss to Vanderbilt on Oct. 25.

Pribula is medically cleared to return from injury, but whether or not he plays will be contingent on a decision from coach Eli Drinkwitz and his own discretion. Mizzou will get an evaluation on him and make the call before the game.

If Missouri decides Pribula isn’t quite ready to suit up, the Tigers will again start true freshman Matt Zollers against the Sooners.

“The very first thing and the most important thing is the student-athlete’s health and well being,” Drinkwitz said regarding Pribula’s status. “Knowing how aggressive and attacking (the Sonners) are, it would be a detriment to our team and Beau to put him out there if he’s not able to play up to his level.”

At the very least, Mizzou will get back defensive lineman Langden Kitchen after he missed action last week against Mississippi State.

However, the Tigers will be without wide receiver DaMarion Fowlkes (injury).
