The 2025 edition of the Mayor’s Cup will be played under the lights.
The Southeastern Conference released its television schedule for Week 4 on Monday, and No. 25 Mizzou’s home game with No. 11 South Carolina is scheduled for either 6 or 6:30 p.m. on ABC or ESPN. The other game in that time slot is Florida’s road contest at No. 5 Miami.
Both the Tigers and Gamecocks are undefeated, although that might not be the case by the time they play each other. While Mizzou is nearly a four-touchdown favorite against Louisiana, South Carolina welcomes a feisty Vanderbilt squad which has blown out Charleston Southern and Virginia Tech in its first two games.
Should both teams win this weekend, ESPN’s College GameDay might visit Columbia for just the second time in the show’s history. Its other visit came in October 2010 when the No. 11 Tigers hosted (and beat) No. 1 Oklahoma.
Some of the other candidates to host that College GameDay: Florida-Miami, No. 9 Illinois at No. 22 Indiana and Tulane at No. 17 Ole Miss. The Gators travel to No. 3 LSU this week, while the Hurricanes host No. 18 South Florida. The Hoosiers host Indiana State, while the Illini welcome Western Michigan. The Rebels host Arkansas, while Tulane is at home against Duke.
FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff is going to No. 21 Texas Tech’s battle with No. 20 Utah in Salt Lake City. While No. 24 Oklahoma at No. 13 Auburn will be of interest to viewers, College GameDay was in Norman last week for Michigan-OU. No school has ever hosted the program in consecutive weeks.
Giudice earns SEC honors
Graduate offensive guard Dominick Giudice was named SEC Co-Offensive Lineman of the Week along with Mississippi State tackle Albert Reese IV.
Giudice tallied a Pro Football Focus grade of 66.6, his second-highest in a collegiate game. The offensive line (and outside receivers) helped pave the way for running backs Ahmad Hardy and Jamal Roberts, who combined for 255 rushing yards on 38 carries.
