  • Missouri ranked No. 12 in SEC media poll despite 10-win 2024 season finish.
  • QB Beau Pribula and WR Kevin Coleman Jr. expected to lead retooled offense.
  • Texas, Georgia and Alabama projected as SEC's top contenders for 2025 title.

The Southeastern Conference’s annual preseason media football poll was released on Friday, and the Missouri Tigers — despite turning in their second straight 10-win season in 2024 — check in at No. 12.

Coming off a 10-3 campaign (5-3 SEC) that included a final ranking of No. 22 in the AP Top 25, Mizzou is predicted to finish among the bottom half of the league’s 16 teams, according to writers and broadcasters who cover the conference.

Last season’s Eli Drinkwitz-coached Tigers finished up with a 27-24 victory over Iowa in the Music City Bowl.

But the Tigers must now replaced multiple offensive skill-position stars this year, including receiver Luther Burden III and quarterback Brady Cook.

Beau Pribula is battling Sam Horn for the top QB job and Kevin Coleman Jr. figures to take over the top wideout slot now that Burden has moved on to the NFL.

Pribula transferred to MU from Penn State, while Coleman transferred in from Mississippi State (he also previously played for Louisville and Jackson State). The QB battle will continue in Mizzou’s fall camp, which begins later this month.

Texas is predicted to finish first in the SEC this fall, followed by Georgia and Alabama.

Also on Friday, two Tigers were included on the preseason All-SEC media teams: junior left guard Cayden Green, a Lee’s Summit North High School product who will anchor the MU O-line, earned first-team honors, while newcomer receiver Coleman made the third team.

Here is the complete SEC preseason media poll, as well predicted order of finish for the league and the league’s preseason All-SEC media teams:
