Nine Mizzou Tigers (including one from KC) make Phil Steele preseason All-SEC team

Guard Cayden Green headlines a list of nine Missouri Tigers football players who have been named to Phil Steele’s annual preseason All-Southeastern Conference team.

Green, who played at Lee’s Summit North in high school, made the publication’s preseason All-SEC first team. He’s back for a second season at Mizzou after beginning his college career at Oklahoma.

The Tigers’ starting left guard, Green has played in 24 games (18 starts) at MU and OU. Last fall he helped Missouri roll up 2,138 rushing yards and 2,926 passing yards, as well as 26 rushing touchdowns.

He also anchored an offensive line that led the SEC (and ranked seventh nationally) in time of possession at 32:54.

Here’s the complete list of Phil Still preseason All-SEC selections for 2025:

Second team: Running back Ahmad Hardy, wide receiver Kevin Coleman Jr. and safety Jalen Catalon.

Third team: Linebackers Triston Newson and Josiah Trotter and safety Daylan Carnell.

Fourth team: Center Connor Tollison and defensive tackle Chris McClellan.

Mizzou’s 2025 season opener is fast approaching. The Tigers play host to Central Arkansas on Aug. 28 at 6:30 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
