Missouri Tigers offensive and defensive linemen enter the NCAA transfer portal
The Missouri Tigers football team lost redshirt freshman center Talan Chandler to the NCAA transfer portal on Monday.
Chandler has three years of eligibility remaining. He played just eight snaps last season, all against UMass.
The Nevada, Missouri, product was a three-star recruit in the class of 2024. He originally committed to Colorado before flipping to Mizzou.
Joe Moore is also entering the portal, likely in hopes of gaining another season of eligibility either through a medical redshirt or the possibility of an NCAA ruling granting him a fifth season.
The St. Louis product was a rotational piece along the Tigers’ defensive line after transferring from Arizona State. He appeared in five games last season before suffering a season-ending knee injury prior to MU’s contest against UMass.
Moore finished the 2024 season with two tackles — including a half-tackle for loss — a half-sack, one pass breakup, five QB pressures and one fumble recovery.
He is perhaps best remembered for recovering a fumble caused by Daylan Carnell that effectively sealed Mizzou’s Cotton Bowl win over Ohio State on Dec. 29, 2023. That season, Moore recorded 13 tackles (1 1/2 for loss).
MU misses out on prized 2026 recruit
On3 reported that five-star tackle Jackson Cantwell will make his college decision April 30. Per the report, the Nixa star will be choosing between Georgia, Miami, Ohio State and Oregon.
Notably absent from the list is Mizzou, which was previously in the running for the No. 1 overall prospect in the class of 2026 (On3 Industry Ranking).
Cantwell is the son of former MU shot put star Christian Cantwell, a five-time world champion and Olympic silver medalist at the 2008 Beijing Games.
The younger Cantwell is the reigning MSHSAA Class 5 shot put and discus champ. He broke the state record with a toss of 71 feet, 11 inches in the shot put last spring.
