Most of Missouri’s nonconference men’s basketball opponents were no longer a secret by Friday when the Tigers officially released their schedule, minus Southeastern Conference games, for the upcoming season.

But MU filled in the gaps, allowing the task ahead of second-year coach Kim Anderson and his squad to come into clearer focus.

Missouri opens the season with its CBE Classic regional games, playing host to Wofford on Nov. 13 and Maryland-Eastern Shore on Nov. 15 at Mizzou Arena in Columbia.

The Tigers hit the road Nov. 17 for the return of a home-and-home at Xavier before playing in the CBE Classic championship rounds Nov. 23-24 at the Sprint Center.

Missouri opens against Kansas State at 6 p.m. Nov. 23, a game that will be televised on ESPNU. North Carolina and Northwestern play in the other semifinal at 8 p.m. on ESPN2.

The losers of those games square off at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 24 with the winners battling for the championship at 9 p.m. on ESPN2.

Missouri will build up to a tough mid-December stretch by playing host to Arkansas State on Dec. 1, Northern Illinois on Dec. 4 and Nebraska-Omaha on Dec. 9.

It gets much tougher from there as the Tigers play at Arizona on Dec. 13, against North Carolina State on Dec. 19 in Columbia and Illinois on Dec. 23 in the annual Braggin’ Rights game at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis.

Missouri returns home and back to mid-major competition Dec. 29 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff and wraps up the nonconference slate Jan. 2 against Savannah State.

The Tigers agreed to pay Arkansas State, Northern Illinois and Arkansas-Pine Bluff $90,000 each for their appearance on the schedule, while Nebraska-Omaha will receive $85,000 for its game at Mizzou Arena, according to documents obtained by The Star.

Missouri played host to Xavier last season and play Arizona on Dec. 16, 2016, at Mizzou Arena. The Tigers played at North Carolina State during the 2013-14 season and postponed the return game from last season to the upcoming season.
