Mizzou football lands defensive end from Northwest Missouri State. He had a KU offer, too
Missouri landed its fifth transfer of the cycle — and fourth on the defensive side of the ball — Tuesday night.
Defensive end Langden Kitchen, who played two seasons at Division II Northwest Missouri State after starring in high school at Westran (about an hour north of Columbia), committed to the Tigers.
Kitchen racked up 21 tackles (8½ for loss), 5½ sacks, two forced fumbles and three passes defended this season. He had nine tackles (8½ for loss) and a pass defended in 2023.
The 6-foot-7, 270-pounder from Huntsville entered the transfer portal Nov. 25 and received offers from Kansas, Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Wisconsin and California before choosing Mizzou.
He joins a defensive line room that desperately needed bodies following the departures of freshmen Williams Nwaneri and Jaylen Brown, who transferred to Nebraska and South Carolina, respectively. Fellow defensive ends Johnny Walker Jr. and Joe Moore III have one season of eligibility remaining.
Penn State QB Beau Pribula visits MU
Penn State redshirt sophomore quarterback Beau Pribula visited Mizzou on Tuesday, per Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports and 247Sports. It was the first visit he had taken since entering the transfer portal Monday.
Pribula was primarily a backup in three seasons with the Nittany Lions, although he rushed for six touchdowns in 2023. He rushed for four more touchdowns in 2024.
Starting quarterback Drew Allar announced that he was returning to Penn State next season, and Pribula promptly hit the portal. Iowa and UCF are the two other schools that are reportedly involved in the quarterback’s recruitment.
Update on Missouri transfer visits
Army running back Kanye Udoh and Louisiana Monroe running back Ahmad Hardy were set to be in Columbia for official visits Wednesday.
Running back has quickly become a position of need for Mizzou due to the sudden transfer of true freshman Kewan Lacy, who committed to Ole Miss. Nate Noel and Marcus Carroll are in their final year of eligibility.
Udoh ran for 1,641 yards and 11 touchdowns in two seasons with the Black Knights. He rushed for 1,117 yards and 10 TDs on 179 carries this year. The 6-foot, 215-pound sophomore is the No. 21 running back in the portal, according to 247Sports.
Hardy was one of the best true freshmen in the country this season, tallying 1,351 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. The 5-foot-10, 205-pounder flew under the radar as the No. 153 running back in the 2024 recruiting class. Hardy is the No. 4 running back and No. 54 player in the portal, per 247Sports.
