Missouri Tigers announce non-conference schedule for upcoming season. Here’s the lineup

The Missouri Tigers men’s basketball team has a finalized non-conference schedule for the 2023-24 season.

It’s a challenging slate.

MU will play five games against power-conference opponents, but eight of the Tigers’ 10 non-conference contests will take place at Mizzou Arena.

This will be head coach Dennis Gates’ second season at the helm. The Tigers are coming off a 25-win season, their best in 11 years. Last season, MU beat six nationally ranked foes, won its first NCAA Tournament game in 13 years and advanced to the SEC Tournament semifinals for the first time in program history.

The 2023-24 season officially opens Nov. 6 when Mizzou welcomes Arkansas-Pine Bluff to Columbia. Defending American Athletic Conference champion Memphis is next — the Nov. 10 game at Mizzou Arena will be a matchup of teams that ended last season ranked in the AP Top 25. A Nov. 13 home game follows against SIU Edwardsville.

The Tigers hit the road for a Nov. 16 game against Minnesota in Minneapolis before returning home for another three-game stand at Mizzou Arena, with scheduled games against Jackson State (Nov. 19), South Carolina State (Nov. 22) and Loyola Maryland (Nov. 25).

Here are a few more highlights from Missouri’s 2023-24 non-conference slate (with the full schedule below, too):

  • MU plays Pitt Nov. 28 in the ACC/SEC Challenge
  • The Tigers will play host to Wichita State on Dec. 3
  • The Hy-Vee Hoops Border Showdown returns Dec. 9 at KU
  • Mizzou returns to KC for the first time in four years, taking on Seton Hall at T-Mobile Center on Dec. 17
  • Braggin’ Rights vs. Illinois in St. Louis is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 22.
