Isiaih Mosley’s tenure with Missouri basketball is over. The guard announced Wednesday that he is leaving the Tigers and attempting to begin his professional career.

The Rock Bridge High alum transferred to MU from Missouri State, where he was one of the Missouri Valley’s top scorers and among the best mid-major players in America. He missed time during the 2022-23 season at Missouri due to unspecified personal reasons.

“Appreciation overflows as I reflect on my journey as a Mizzou Tigers,” Mosley said in a statement posted to his Twitter account. “From a kid in CoMo to a proud member of this remarkable community, I am immensely grateful.”

Mosley went on to thank his coaches and teammates, singling out MU head coach Dennis Gates and athletic director Desiree Reed-Francois.

He then revealed his plans.

“After much consideration, conversation and unwavering support from my family, I have decided to embark on the professional path,” Mosley said in the statement. “This lifelong dream of mine is now within reach, and I am eager to witness my aspirations transform into reality.”

He played in 14 games with three starts last season, averaging 19.7 minutes per game. When he was on the court, he was a massive difference-maker for the Tigers, scoring a season-high 23 points against Coastal Carolina and putting in a 20-point effort at Ole Miss.

Mosley had a month-long absence from Dec. 17 against SEMO before reappearing on Jan. 18 against Arkansas. He remained a regular part of the Missouri rotation through the Tigers’ Feb. 4 game at Mississippi State.

After that, however, he did not play for Mizzou again.

Mosley would still regularly sit on the bench with his teammates, but he didn’t get into another game. The Tigers never made public what issues Mosley was facing.

“Columbia,” Mosley wrote on Wednesday, “you have been (my) rocky my entire life, standing with me through thick and thin.

“Your unwavering support has touched my soul, and I consider myself fortunate to call this place home.”
