Missouri’s J’den Cox selected for NWCA All-Star Classic
Reigning 197-pound NCAA wrestling national champion J’den Cox, a Missouri sophomore, has been selected for the 2014 National Wrestling Coaches Association All-Star Classic on Nov. 1 at the University of Pennsylvania.
Cox is one of four returning national champions selected for the event and is the Tigers’ ninth all-time representative in the all-star event.
He will wrestle Minnesota’s Scott Schiller at the All-Star Classic.
“The University of Missouri is proud to have J’den Cox representing Missouri at the NWCA All-Star Classic,” Missouri wrestling head coach Brian Smith said in a release from MU Athletics. “The NWCA does an amazing job promoting this event and it’s always a great honor for the athletes who participate in it”
Schiller is a two-time NCAA All-American. He finished third at the NCAA championships at 197 pounds last season.
It will be the first meeting between Cox and Schiller.
