About Alabama (16-2, 6-0 SEC):
Since the Crimson Tide’s 100-90 home loss to Gonzaga on Dec. 17, they have been the hottest team in the country. They followed that loss with seven consecutive victories by 12 points or more. Six of those seven wins have come in conference play, including two Top 25 road wins.
Brandon Miller, a projected lottery pick in the 2023 NBA draft, has been one of the most impressive freshman this year. He comes into Saturday’s contest averaging 20.1 points and 8.3 rebounds. He is also a threat from behind the arc, shooting 46% from three-point range. As a team, Alabama is averaging 84 points per game which might pose problems to Missouri’s defense.
About Missouri (14-4, 3-3):
Missouri is coming off what might be its biggest win of the season against Arkansas. The Tigers rebounded from back-to-back losses to top No. 25 Arkansas in the two teams’ second meeting of the year. Dennis Gates’ squad rallied from a 10-point deficit in the final minutes to hand Arkansas its fifth loss in conference play.
While the Tigers have ranked wins over Kentucky, Illinois and Arkansas, the Crimson Tide are a different type of task. Missouri will have to avoid a start similar to the game against Kansas, where the Tigers fell behind early and never recovered.
