Missouri Tigers men’s basketball lands in AP Top 25 for first time since 2020-21

For the first time since the 2020-21 season, the Missouri men’s basketball team is ranked in the AP Top 25 poll.

The Tigers checked in at No. 20 following back-to-back wins over then-No. 16 Illinois and then-No. 19 Kentucky. The Tigers are 12-1 with their only loss coming to No. 3 Kansas.

Dennis Gates’ squad will face Arkansas on Wednesday in its third consecutive ranked matchup. Missouri was most recently ranked in the 2020-21 season under Cuonzo Martin, as the Tigers remained in the AP poll for 11 weeks and reached a peak of No. 10.

As for today’s rankings update: Alabama climbed to No. 7 in the poll, Tennessee ranks No. 8 and Arkansas moved to No. 13. Auburn rounded out the SEC teams in the poll at No. 22 while, locally, Kansas (No. 3) and K-State (receiving votes) were also mentioned.
