Mizzou QB Brady Cook undergoes surgery after playing injured for most of 2022 season
Missouri quarterback Brady Cook underwent successful surgery on his right shoulder Thursday to repair a torn labrum, the school announced.
Cook suffered the injury in the Tigers’ second game this season, at Kansas State. He started every game for Mizzou including the team’s bowl game loss to Wake Forest last week.
Recovery from the surgery will keep Cook out of spring practice but he’s expected to be ready for the start of training camp.
Cook, who made his first college start in Missouri’s bowl game in 2021, threw for 2,719 yards with 14 touchdowns and seven interceptions in the Tigers’ 6-7 campaign in 2022. He threw eight touchdown passes in the final four games.
Cook, from St. Louis, has two years of eligibility remaining — plus a “super-senior” season if he chooses to return for the bonus year.
