Harrison Mevis kicked his way to the SEC weekly award for special teams players.

Mevis went five-for-five on field goals in the Tigers’ 26-22 loss to top-ranked Georgia on Saturday.

A native of Warsaw, Indiana, Mevis made kicks of 56 and 51 yards. The 56-yarder matched his personal best, set last season at Boston College.

Mevis’ 16 points in the game was the highest total by a player in the SEC this season. He became the only FBS kicker with three field goals of 50-plus yards this year, and the first Missouri player to boot at least four field goal of at least 40 yards in a game.

Mevis also was named a Lou Groza Star of the Week. He was a semifinalist for the Groza Award, given annually to the top placekicker in all of college football, the past two seasons.
