Highly touted Johnson County basketball prospect Aidan Shaw is back where he began.

The Blue Valley High senior, who re-opened his recruiting after Cuonzo Martin was fired as head coach of the Missouri Tigers men’s basketball team, has re-committed to Mizzou, he tweeted on Wednesday.

“I am thankful for all the new offers I received and truly didn’t limit my decision on just my prior list... The fans love me and I love them,” Shaw said in a tweet.

Shaw, a 6-foot-8 forward, is a four-star prospect and becomes the biggest addition for new MU coach Dennis Gates. Shaw had signed with Mizzou in November but sought and was granted his release in March.

According to ESPN, Shaw originally chose the Tigers over a list of other interested schools that included Kansas, Kansas State, Arkansas, Creighton, Iowa, Iowa State, Maryland, Southern California, Texas, Texas Christian and Vanderbilt.

He won a slam dunk contest last week in New Orleans, site of the Final Four.

Shaw was ranked as the nation’s 50th-best prospect by 247 Sports and was a consensus top 75 pick.
