Former Missouri Tigers QB Drew Lock headed to Seattle in Russell Wilson trade: report
Former Missouri Tigers quarterback Drew Lock has a new home in the NFL.
Lock was included in a blockbuster trade by the Denver Broncos to acquire Seattle Seahawks star QB Russell Wilson on Tuesday afternoon, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Since being drafted out of Mizzou in the second round of the draft in 2019, Lock had started 21 games for the Broncos. He was the man under center for 13 games in 2020, but backed up Teddy Bridgewater last season.
The Lee’s Summit High School product played in six games in 2021, starting three. He completed 67 of 111 passes (60.4%) for 787 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. The season prior, he had 2,933 passing yards, 16 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.
Lock was a four-year starter at Missouri, where he made his mark as one of the best quarterbacks to don the black and gold. His 12,193 career passing yards were the second most in SEC history at the time of his departure, and his 99 career touchdown passes were the third most all-time in the conference. He finished his time in Columbia with the second-most passing yards in program history, behind Chase Daniel.
Now Lock will have a new start in Seattle, with wide receiver weapons of D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett at his disposal.
