Eliah Drinkwitz and the Missouri Tigers football team are reportedly hiring Jacob Peeler to the coaching staff.

Mizzou has not confirmed the hire, but Bruce Feldman of The Athletic first reported on Friday that Mizzou is hiring Peeler, Texas State’s offensive coordinator, as an offensive assistant. Dave Matter of the St. Louis Post-Dispach also reported Mizzou is hiring Peeler as an offensive coach.

It remains unclear what specific position Peeler will fill on staff.

Peeler spent the 2020 and 2021 seasons as offensive coordinator for Texas State. Before that, he was at Ole Miss from 2017-19 as wide receivers coach. While with the Rebels, he helped develop 2019 NFL Draft picks A.J. Brown and D.K. Metcalf.

Peeler has also served on the coaching staffs at California and Louisiana Tech.

If Peeler is hired, Drinkwitz has one opening on his coaching staff for the 2022 season.
