Eliah Drinkwitz and his staff have gone to work in the transfer portal to follow up on Missouri football’s historic 2022 class.

The Tigers picked up a commitment from former Buffalo offensive lineman Bence Polgar on Friday afternoon.

Polgar started 11 games at center as a sophomore for the Bulls in 2021. He could fill a crucial hole for Mizzou left by the graduation of starting center Michael Maietti, who also transferred into the program.

Polgar, a native of Wayne Hills, New Jersey, who is listed at 6-foot-3, 288 pounds, will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.

The Tigers have four other players set to join the offensive line for next season. Lee’s Summit North product Armand Membou, Tristan Wilson and Valen Erickson are all inked for the 2022 class. Four-star Deshawn Woods is also committed for the incoming class, but he hasn’t signed yet.

Missouri also added former Clemson defensive back Joseph Charleston by way of the transfer portal earlier this month. Though he only had six tackles this past season, Charleston recorded 62 total tackles and two pass deflections in three years under Dabo Sweeney.
