Just a two days after a historic 2022 football recruiting class signed with the Missouri Tigers, coach Eliah Drinkwitz has another player on board for the next cycle.

Three-star defensive end Jahkai Lang committed to play for Mizzou on Friday, becoming the second pledge for the 2023 class.

Out of Troy Buchanan High School in Troy, Missouri, Lang is the No. 10 player in the state, according to both the 247 Sports Composite and Rivals. Both recruiting sites rank him as a top-30 weak side defensive end in the country.

Lang chose the Tigers over Kentucky and Wisconsin. He also had offers from Michigan State, Tennessee, Minnesota, Kansas and Kansas State, among others.

The 6-foot-4, 240 pound Lang joins four-star tight end Brett Norfleet as the two prospects in Mizzou’s 2023 class, both from the state of Missouri. Norfleet is a four-star our of Francis Howell School in Saint Charles. He is ranked as the No. 5 player in the state, No. 10 tight end and No. 191 player in the class, per the 247 Sports Composite.
