Mizzou Tigers’ Tyler Badie wins SEC football scholar-athlete of the year award
Missouri Tigers running back Tyler Badie won the SEC football scholar-athlete of the year award Thursday.
Badie is the first Mizzou player to receive the prestigious honor.
In his first semester as a graduate student, Badie had a 3.83 grade point average. He earned a bachelor’s degree in sport management earlier this year and is pursuing a master’s in athletic administration and positive coaching.
Also one of three finalists for the Doak Walker Award, given to the best running back in the country, Badie led the SEC with 1,604 rushing yards this season (third in the country). He was also first in the conference and second nationally with 1,939 all-purpose yards.
