The Missouri men’s basketball team was without three players in Tuesday’s 78-68 season-opening victory against Central Michigan.

Kansas State transfer DaJuan Gordon and freshmen Kaleb Brown and Trevon Brazile didn’t play and the Tigers only had nine scholarship players available.

Gordon, who averaged 9.1 points and 5.5 rebounds for the Wildcats last season, was the biggest loss of the trio. He was expected to be part of head coach Cuonzo Martin’s eight-to-10 man rotation. Gordon was ruled unavailable for the first game by the NCAA. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, he was given a one game suspension for playing in an unsanctioned summer league game.

Brown had a non-COVID related illness, which was first reported by The Star. Per sources, he had flu-like symptoms and missed a couple of practices.

Brazile was medically unavailable, also non-COVID related, according to the school.
