Two Missouri Tigers football players were honored by the Southeastern Conference on Monday.

Running back Tyler Badie was chosen the SEC co-offensive player of the week and kicker Harrison Mevis earned the special teams player of the week award.

Badie, who shared the honor with Mississippi State’s Will Rogers, set career highs in rushing yards (254), all-purpose yards (294) and carries (31) in Mizzou’s first SEC victory of the season at Vanderbilt last Saturday. No player in a Power Five conference has recorded more all-purpose yards in a game this season.

The senior is the first player in program history to rush for 200 yards in three or more games in a season. He also scored two touchdowns in the 37-28 victory over the Commodores, bringing his total to 11 rushing touchdowns on the year. He has four receiving touchdowns, which leads all running backs nationally.

Mevis kicked three field goals for Mizzou in the victory, coming from 46, 32 and 52 yards. The sophomore has made 19 consecutive field goals dating back to last season, which is the longest streak in the nation. He has been perfect on all three of his field goal attempts of 50-plus yards in 2021 and is one of only four kickers in the nation who have made a 56-yard field goal.

The Tigers (4-4, 1-3 SEC) face their toughest test of the season this Saturday when they go on the road to face No. 1 Georgia. The game will kickoff at 11 a.m. Central time and air on ESPN.
