Missouri freshman Allie Hess, who led Kearney to a third-place finish in the Missouri Class 3 girls tournament, was chosen as SEC player of the week.

Missouri freshman forward Allie Hess was chosen Monday as the SEC women’s soccer freshmen of the week after notching the first four points of her college career in two Tigers victories last week.

Hess, a Kearney graduate, scored her first college goal Friday in a 2-1 win against Kentucky. She notched a 39th-minute equalizer to erase a first-half deficit.

On Sunday, Hess added assists on both goals in a 2-0 win against Vanderbilt.

She is the second Missouri freshman to win the award this season, joining Liberty graduate Kaitlyn Clark.
