This Mizzou basketball pledge committed to Tigers just hours after earning his offer
Missouri Tigers basketball coach Cuonzo Martin can keep sipping his coffee as he continues to rack up wins on the recruiting trail.
Small forward Trevon Brazile of Springfield announced his commitment Tuesday to the Tigers. The 6-foot-7 Brazile the fourth pledge of Mizzou’s 2021 recruiting class. The Tigers were Brazile’s first high-major offer as he drew interest from other schools like Wisconsin.
Brazile earned an offer from Martin’s program just hours before commitment Tuesday. He’s only 180 pounds, so he’ll likely need to fill out his frame to bang around in the SEC.
Brazile transferred to Kickapoo High this summer, according to the Springfield News-Leader, the same high school where Mizzou pledge Anton Brookshire plays. The two will join forces ahead of their time at Mizzou. A small forward, Brazile is similar in game to another Mizzou pledge: Sean Durugordon. As lengthy forwards who can defend, they project well in Martin’s system.
Mizzou likely isn’t done putting the pieces together for its 2021 recruiting class. The Tigers have a senior-laden team this year, all of whom will exhaust their eligibility — which means tons of roster spots will be up for grabs in 2021-22. Mizzou loses the likes of Jeremiah Tilmon, Mitchell Smith, Mark Smith and Dru Smith, players who figure to be key contributors this season.
