Mizzou Tigers football opens on national TV against Alabama: more details about kickoff
When the Missouri Tigers kick off to open the Eliah Drinkwitz era against Alabama, it’ll come with a nationally televised audience and a night game at Faurot Field. The Tigers draw the Crimson Tide for a 6 p.m. showdown on ESPN when the season begins Sept. 26.
The Southeastern Conference unveiled Tuesday kickoff times and TV details for select games as Mizzou’s schedule slowly comes together.
Here are the details of Mizzou’s three other announced games:
Mizzou at Tennessee, Neyland Stadium, 11 a.m. Oct. 3, SEC Network
Mizzou vs. Vanderbilt, Faurot Field, 6:30 p.m. Oct. 17, SEC Network
Mizzou vs. Kentucky, Faurot Field, 11 a.m. Oct. 31, SEC Network
The conference has now fully announced the television particulars for the first two weeks of the season, along with games on three other Saturdays. Any games not chosen before the start of the season will have the normal 12- or six-day selection process used during the season.
The SEC also announced Tuesday which games will be broadcast nationally on CBS, and as of now, Mizzou will not be featured. However, there’s a chance the Tigers could make their way onto the network in open weeks or the now-annual Black Friday game between Mizzou vs. Arkansas.
That means 40% of the games on Mizzou’s schedule now have times, dates, sites and TV information attached to them. The Tigers will play 10 games in 2020 as part of a modified, SEC-only schedule because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mizzou still plans to allow fans at Faurot Field this fall, with capacity capped at 25%. Who’s allowed into the stadium will depend on donor level when purchasing season tickets.
