Mizzou football lands junior-college defensive end, climbs to 18 pledges in 2021 class
The Missouri Tigers continue to rack up defensive line prospects. They landed junior-college defensive end Daniel Robledo’s commitment Monday.
Robledo, who last played for East Los Angeles College, announced his commitment on Twitter, choosing Mizzou over offers from Arizona, UCLA, Ole Miss and others. Robledo is rated as the No. 7 junior-college recruit by 247Sports, which is separate from the 247Sports Composite ranking, which compiles data from multiple sites.
“I chose this university for many reasons, and one of those reasons is they have a great coaching staff and they’ve been there and loved me and supported me since Day 1,” Robledo said in the video. “They’re going to take me to the highest level of competition and to bring me to my highest point as an athlete.”
Robledo is Mizzou’s fifth defensive commitment, joining Travion Ford, Mekhi Wingo, Shemar Pearl and Jonathan Jones. Robledo and Pearl (Garden City CC) are also junior-college prospects.
Defensive end is a position of need for Mizzou and the Tigers’ coaching staff has prioritized it during this recruiting cycle. A Tuscon, Arizona native, Robledo compiled 35 tackles and four sacks in 10 games during the 2019 season.
Here are the other 17 members of Mizzou’s 2021 class:
