Missouri football, track and field athlete Khmari Thompson transferring from Tigers
While there’s still some uncertainty with the college football season, the Missouri Tigers roster continues to take shape.
Mizzou wide receiver Khmari Thompson has entered the transfer portal after two seasons with the team, he announced Monday. Thompson appeared in three games during the 2018 season and none last year.
A notable speedster, Thompson also competed on Mizzou’s track and field team as a two-sport athlete.
“After many conversations with my family concerning my future as a student athlete, I have decided to enter the transfer portal to seek out the best place to utilize my remaining eligibility and pursue my education,” Thompson wrote in his post. “God bless everyone and I pray that my decision is respected.”
Thompson is the second wide receiver to transfer away from the program since new MU coach Eliah Drinkwitz succeeded Barry Odom. In a Twitter post, Thompson thanked Odom, Drinkwitz and other coaches from his time at Mizzou.
The first wide receiver to enter the transfer portal was Kam Scott, who announced he has landed with Houston, his hometown school. Cornerback Christian Holmes (Oklahoma State) and running back Anthony Watkins (Tulsa) have also left the program.
