About LSU (17-6, 8-2 SEC): No. 25-ranked LSU has stumbled in its past two games, losing both, including a road game against what was a winless Vanderbilt team. LSU was defeated in its last game, an overtime thriller to No. 11 Auburn. LSU’s a solid offensive team that especially excels in offensive rebounding. Skyler Mays is also one of the better players in the league. LSU’s entire starting lineup averages double-figure points. KenPom ranks the Tigers No. 34.
About Missouri (11-12, 3-7 SEC): Mizzou is coming off an impressive win against Arkansas, exhibiting the toughness the Tigers had been lacking in recent games. They’ve been banged up recently, including injuries to forward Jeremiah Tilmon and guard Mark Smith. Tilmon is out for Tuesday’s game while Smith is again a game-time decision. Mizzou will need a Xavier Pinson or Dru Smith to step up to fill the offensive void. KenPom has MU at No. 120.
Prediction: It’s a tough game for Mizzou, which is 0-5 in SEC road games thus far. It’ll be interesting to see how LSU plays against MU, considering it’s on a losing streak and looking to avenge some losses. We’ll say Mizzou loses by double digits, but if Cuonzo Martin’s Tigers can keep LSU from scoring on second-chance opportunities, MU has a chance to pull off the road upset.
LSU 72, Missouri 61
