Texas linebacker Trey Baldwin commits to Mizzou football team

Missouri secured its fifth football commitment in the last five days when outside linebacker Trey Baldwin from Cypress Falls (Texas) High gave a verbal pledge.

Baldwin is listed as a three-star prospect from Houston with scholarship offers from Illinois and several mid-major programs, according to Rivals.

He is ranked as the No. 144 player in Texas by 247 Sports, which also gave him a three-star ranking.

Baldwin played at West Orange Stark High last season and becomes the ninth known commitment in the Tigers’ 2016 recruiting class.

Four of the five commitments Missouri has received since Friday have been defensive players.

Columbia Rock Bridge defensive end Tre Williams, a four-star prospect with offers from eight other Power Five programs, committed Friday and his Bruins teammate, two-star cornerback Bryce Banks, committed Sunday.

In between, cornerback Christian Holmes, a two-star prospect from McNair High in Atlanta, committed to MU on Saturday.

The Tigers also received a commitment from O’Fallon (Ill.) kicker Tucker McCann on Monday. He is ranked as the No. 2 kicker in the nation by Kohl’s Professional Camps.
