Missouri landed its fourth verbal commitment in four days Monday as the football staff prepared to tee off in Tiger Club of Kansas City Golf Tournament at Shoal Creek Golf Club in Kansas City.

O’Fallon (Ill.) kicker Tucker McCann, who took an unofficial visit last week to Columbia, becomes the eighth known commitment in the 2016 recruiting class.

McCann, who also had scholarship offers from Alabama and Illinois, is ranked as the No. 2 kicker in the nation by the Kohl’s Professional Camps national rating.

McCann set an Illinois High School Association record with a 60-yard field goal during a game last season.

He is a two-star recruit, according to 247 Sports, which lists him as the No. 4 kicker in the nation and No. 32 player in Illinois.

McCann would seem poised to take over next season for Andrew Baggett, a three-year starter whose eligibility will be exhausted in the fall.

McCann’s commitment continues a recent recruiting surge for the Tigers.

Missouri landed a commitments from a pair of Columbia Rock Bridge teammates — defensive end Tre Williams, a four-star Rivals prospect who committed Friday, and two-star cornerback Bryce Banks, who committed Sunday — along with two-star cornerback Christian Holmes of McNair High in Atlanta, who committed Saturday.
