Former Tigers Jabari Brown, Kim English receive NBA training camp invites
Two former Missouri basketball players — Jabari Brown and Kim English — signed with NBA teams this week and will be in preseason training camp, hoping to land a spot in the league.
Brown, a shooting guard who opted to forego his final year of eligibility and went undrafted last spring, signed Tuesday with the Lakers.
Brown, who averaged 19.9 points as a junior and led the SEC in scoring, will be reunited with Jordan Clarkson, who also left early for the NBA after last season, in Los Angeles.
Clarkson was a second-round pick by the Lakers.
Brown played for the Rockets’ summer-league team, averaging 9.4 points in 20.2 minutes.
On Friday, the Bulls announced that English been added to its camp.
English, who was originally drafted by the Pistons in 2012, played 41 games with Detroit two seasons ago.
English, a Baltimore native, averaged 14.5 points and 4.2 rebounds as a senior at Missouri in 2011-12. He averaged 2.9 points and 9.9 minutes with the Pistons.
Two other former Missouri players are currently on NBA roster, point guard Phil Pressey (Celtics) and forward DeMarre Carroll (Hawks).
