Missouri’s Kaitlyn Clark wins SEC freshman of the week honor
Missouri freshman midfielder Kaitlyn Clark was chosen Monday as the SEC women’s soccer freshman of the week.
Clark, a Liberty graduate, scored her first career goal Friday as the Tigers opened conference play with a 3-1 home win against LSU. Her goal stood up as the game-winner.
Clark also had an assist — again the first of her career — on Missouri’s first goal.
Clark’s former Liberty teammate, Texas A&M senior forward Shea Groom, was the SEC’s offensive player of the week.
Groom scored three goals in a 3-0 win Thursday against Tennessee. It was her second career hat trick.
Missouri returns to action with a pair of tough road games Friday at No. 14 South Carolina and Sunday at No. 7 Florida, a match that will be televised on ESPNU and the SEC Network.
