Missouri will be without top freshman Michael Porter Jr. for the third straight game when the Tigers play Emporia State, a Division II school, at 7 Monday night.

Porter will miss the game in order to see a specialist, according to a Mizzou basketball spokesperson, which is a new development in the mystery regarding his left leg injury. The 6-foot-10 forward played two minutes in the team’s season opener against Iowa State and scored two points before asking coach Cuonzo Martin to take him out of the game. Porter has not played since.

In Missouri’s game against Wagner last week, Porter was not on the bench and instead watched the game from the locker room. At the time, a team spokesperson said it was easier for Porter to watch the game lying down in the locker room rather than sitting. Porter did not travel with the team to last Thursday’s game in Utah.

Missouri is 1-1 without Porter Jr. in the lineup.
