Mizzou football adds Texas offensive tackle to 2018 recruiting class
Missouri football landed a huge commitment Wednesday — quite literally — when Coppell (Texas) High offensive tackle Mike Ruth gave his verbal pledge via Twitter.

Ruth is a 6-foot-7, 310-pound prospect from the Dallas suburbs and the sixth commitment the Tigers have picked up from Texas in the 2018 recruiting class.
He is a consensus three-star prospect — according to 247 Sports, Rivals and Scout — and also had offers from Kansas State, Vanderbilt, Arizona State, Boise State, Houston, Indiana, Iowa State, Miami (Fla.), Syracuse and Texas Tech among others.
Ruth also is an excellent student with offers from Columbia, Harvard, Penn, Princeton, Yale and West Point.
Scout ranks him as the No. 9 offensive tackle in Texas, which has provided six of Mizzou’s known commitments so far in a 12-player recruiting class.
Ruth, who is the first offensive lineman to commit to the Tigers for 2018, occasionally lined up at guard last season and is a pancake machine.
He was the second player to commit Wednesday to MU, joining Sidney Lanier High linebacker La’Dedric Jackson from Montgomery, Ala., and is the seventh commitment the Tigers have received since Friday afternoon.
