Senior guard Keith Shamburger scored 11 of Missouri’s first 15 points Tuesday in his final game at Mizzou Arena against Auburn.

He also had the game’s first rebound in a spectacular start to the Tigers’ senior night.

“I really didn’t care about the points or anything tonight,” Shamburger said. “I just wanted to get a win on senior night. … That’s what me and ‘Key’ did. We’ve been talking about this for the whole week.”

The game also served as senior night for forward Keanau Post, a 6-foot-11 native of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

Shamburger started the game four of four from the field, including two three-pointers, and closed the game with seven points in the final 3:46 that helped put Auburn away, including the game-winning jumper with 10.9 seconds remaining in a 63-61 win.

“Keanau thought I was going to throw him an alley-oop, but I was just trying to get my legs under me — that’s what took me so long, to make sure I made the shot,” Shamburger said.

Post scored the first basket in the second half, breaking a 30-30 tie, for his first points of the game. He finished with six points and four rebounds.

“It felt great just finishing up with a win,” Post said. “It felt great just seeing Keith out there playing and having fun doing it.”

In 16 career games at Mizzou Arena, Shamburger averaged 10.1 points, 3.6 assists and 3.5 rebounds, while Post averaged 2.8 points and 2.7 rebounds in 32 career home games.

First half

▪ Key play: With 19 seconds remaining, Auburn tried a long inbounds pass from under the Missouri basket, but freshman Namon Wright — doing his best Richard Sherman impression — broke up the pass. Senior Keith Shamburger then led a fast break, which Wright finished with the game-tying layup.

▪ Key stat: Auburn shot an icy 32.1 percent in the first half.

Second half

▪ Key play: Freshman Montaque Gill-Caesar poked the ball from Auburn junior Cinmeon Bowers in the closing seconds, giving Shamburger a second crack at the game-winning jumper. He connected with 10.9 seconds remaining.

▪ Key stat: Missouri finished on a 9-0 run as Auburn went scoreless during the final 3:04.
