Missouri’s Jordan Frericks selected second-team All-SEC in women’s basketball

Missouri sophomore forward Jordan Frericks was announced Tuesday as a second-team All-Southeastern Conference women’s basketball selection.

Frericks, a native of Quincy, Ill., averaged 13.6 points and 9.7 rebounds during the regular season for the Tigers. Both were team highs, and she ranks second in the SEC in rebounding.

She owns 11 double-doubles in 29 games for Missouri, which leads the SEC in defensive rebounds with 29.4 per game and ranks fourth in the SEC with a 49.2 field-goal percentage.

Frericks was chosen as the SEC women’s basketball player of the week on Monday after averaging 17.5 points and eight rebounds in wins against Texas A&M and Arkansas last week as the Tigers close the regular season on a four-game winning streak.

The seventh-seeded Tigers, 17-12 and 7-9 in the conference, open the SEC Tournament at 6 p.m. Thursday against No. 10 seed Georgia, 18-11 and 6-10, at Verizon Arena in North Little Rock, Ark.
