Sophie Cunningham returns, Mizzou women win at home

Sophomore star Sophie Cunningham returned to the Missouri women’s basketball lineup on Saturday after missing two games with injury, and the Tigers got a win in front of their home crowd.

Missouri defeated UT Martin 80-69 behind Cunningham’s 21-point performance. She made 7 of her 13 shots from the field and pulled down six rebounds.

Sierra Michaelis scored a team-high 23 points, and Cierra Porter added 19 points and 14 rebounds for Mizzou. The Tigers, who led by as many as 21 points in the second half, improved to 9-3.

Emanye Robertson and Kendall Spray both had 15 points to lead UT Martin (3-8).

Missouri will host UC Riverside at 7 p.m. Monday at Mizzou Arena before traveling to SLU on Wednesday.
