Missouri’s Reggie McClain, LSU’s Alex Lange win SEC baseball awards

Making his debut with Missouri, junior right-hander Reggie McClain tossed eight shutout innings and struck out 10 on Friday against Iona in Cary, N.C.

He was announced Monday as the SEC pitcher of the week for his performance.

McClain, a 6-foot-2 transfer from Manatee Community College in Florida, allowed only three hits — all singles — with no walks. He also picked off two baserunners.

LSU right-hander Alex Lange was the SEC freshman of the week.

No Jayhawks advanced beyond second base.
