SOUTH REGION

AT PROVIDENCE, R.I.

▪ No. 3 Miami, Fla. vs. No. 11 Wichita State

Time/TV: 11:10 a.m., CBS

The Shockers have found their NCAA Tournament mojo with two victories, the second a dominant triumph over sixth-seeded Arizona. Wichita State forced 19 turnovers. Guard Angel Rodriguez had 24 points and Sheldon McClellan 20 in Miami’s first-round victory over Buffalo.

Pick: Wichita State 68-64

AT DES MOINES, IOWA

▪ No. 1 Kansas vs. No. 9 Connecticut

Time/TV: About 6:45 p.m., TNT

The Huskies overcame a nine-point halftime deficit in defeating Colorado in the first-round, and they did it with defensive pressure. The Jayhawks got zero points from Big 12 Tournament MVP Devonte Graham in the opening victory over Austin Peay, but Svi Mykhailuk had a career-best 23.

Pick: Kansas 72-65

WEST REGION

AT PROVIDENCE, R.I.

▪ No. 4 Duke vs. No. 12 Yale

Time/TV: About 1:40 p.m., CBS

Yale collected the first tournament victory in program history, upsetting No. 5 seed Baylor 79-75 behind Makai Mason’s 31 points. Duke trailed UNC-Wilmington at halftime before roaring back behind Marshall Plumlee’s career-high 23 points.

Pick: Duke 79-65

EAST REGION

AT DES MOINES, IOWA

▪ No. 4 Kentucky vs. No. 5 Indiana

Time/TV: 4:15 p.m., CBS

Both overwhelmed their first-round opponents, setting up their first meeting since the 2012 NCAA Tournament. All eyes will be on the backcourt matchup between Indiana’s Yogi Ferrell and Kentucky’s Tyler Ulis. The Hoosiers entered the tournament as the nation’s third best shooting team. The Wildcats are among the nation’s top defenders.

Pick: Kentucky 80-76

AT RALEIGH, N.C.

▪ No. 1 North Carolina vs. No. 9 Providence

Time/TV: About 8:40 p.m., TBS

At halftime, Florida Gulf Coast had visions of becoming the first No. 16 seed to topple a No. 1, trailing North Carolina by one. But the Tar Heels ran away behind Brice Johnson’s 18 points. Providence delivered the best finish of the first round, Rodney Bullock’s layup from an in-bounds pass under the basket with 1.5 seconds remaining to beat Southern California.

Pick: North Carolina 88-74

MIDWEST REGION

AT DENVER

▪ No. 4 Iowa State vs. No. 12 Arkansas Little Rock

Time/TV: 5:10 p.m., TNT

A long three-pointer from Josh Hagins forced overtime and he went on to a 31-point effort in the Trojans’ upset of Purdue. Now the Sun Belt champions take on a high flying Iowa State team that ran past Iona. The good news for the Cyclones is point guard Monte Morris seems to have recovered from a shoulder injury.

Pick: Iowa State 85-78

AT RALEIGH, N.C.

▪ No. 1 Virginia vs. No. 9 Butler

Time/TV: 6:10 p.m., TBS

The bracket has opened up for Virginia with No. 2 seed Michigan State’s loss on Friday to Middle Tennessee State. The Cavaliers had an easy time with Hampton in the first round but are wary of a Butler program that has taken down two No. 1 seeds since 2010. Both teams are terrific from behind the arc, and good on the boards.

Pick: Virginia 60-57

AT DENVER

▪ No. 3 Utah vs. No. 11 Gonzaga

Time/TV: 7:40 p.m., TNT

The Zags may have needed to win their conference tournament for an NCAA spot, but they know what to do once they made the field, knocking off sixth-seeded Seton Hall. Utah put away Fresno State when center Jakob Poeltl came up with 18 rebounds.

Pick: Utah 80-70
